i agree with both of you guys to be honest....a well informed drawing works best when a live model is present, but I was in the same boat; I had a few instances where I just couldn't make it down to Philadelphia from North NJ to use the life drawing models I used to have access to when I attended school there. BUT, a strong knowledge of anatomy and form can be applied alongside creative license and you can get some pretty great results from having just used a photograph, or in Z.M's case, some software. Posemaniac.com has some great 3D models that you can rotate and use to really wrap your pencil around!
