- Hannah Farrell Also, figure work is important because, once you are comfortable with the human figure, you can play with it more in your characters (see above... yeah.) So you have an excellent start, but have fun with it, get messy, and really plat with those figures. ... more

Really, everyone here is very talented. However, to give my honest opinion, I like the work of those rejected moreso than those accepted.

I'm just kind of confused because I really have no clue what they're looking for if everything I like is rejected.

It's really hard to know what they're looking for. I think that's what made me slip up too, because I was hyper-focused on what Calarts "wanted to see" as opposed to what I felt best represented me as an artist. lolhugemistake. I'm just going to take inspiration from those accepted, receive the feedback on my portfolio, then continue trying to make a stellar portfolio for next year.

So it has to be after May 1st, right? Because I heard May is when your sketchbooks and stuff actually go back to you.
