Hello Animated Buzz! My name is Kyle Stobener. This is my first time posting here. I've been a member for a while but i havn't been to envolved. I'm hoping with summer here i can be.
At the moment I am attending a jounior college up in sacramento just trying to not only G.E done but work on my portfolio to hopefully get into a good artschool. I will be trying to apply to calarts for character animation (Yeah, i know. How original.) and in general i just want to become a better character artist and character designer. The only problem is i've self taught myself everything other than a couple of figure drawing classes and a digital art class. I'm going to continue to work on figure drawing next semester, but I have a whole summer ahead of me and i just want to get my work closer to what it will need to be in order to be excepted into calarts.
What i'm looking for is, yes critique, but also advice on if there are any exercises i could to to get better. I talked to a representative from Calarts and he told me to loosen up and not be so relient on formula. Is there a good way to practice this or are there any exersises you guys use in order to try and loosen up. I hope that makes sense. :/

The more in depth and the more infromation you can give me the better. Tear me to pieces please! It'll be good for me.
Thank you!
