They were to big for my scanner even if I scanned them "piece by peice". So I had to take pictures of them on my digital camera. As for the "scratchy lines", if you have a remedy for stiff life drawings I would really like to hear it. Sorry if I sound like a jackass, I seriously do need a remedy for that. It's just been a while since I've read them. U^__^   @Amanda I don't hate you XD! In fact I love you even more for taking the time to rip my portfolio a new one. I...    less

  • About Me Once upon a time, there was a small, pudgy faced, youngster who liked to draw. As time went by, he discovered the internet. It was there he found a sea of artists with unique and creative styles of their own as well as their own fan-bases. Unfortunately, he had no knowledge of how they obtained their styles, so he decided to join said artists in hopes of fame and glory. His philosophy was "As long as the drawings are good". Sadly, to his surprise, NONE of the drawings were good. In fact they were all shite on a dinner plate. Mainly due to the fact that, that he had no prior knowledge of human anatomy, structure, form, or any of the basic principles of art. It took a good two and a half years, for other talented artists to show him the error of his arrogant ways. After taking their words to consideration, the boy realized that he had done nothing but waste his time trying to be something that he wasn't and that no matter what he does at this point, he'll never live any of it down. As a result, he grew tired of the walking contradiction he had become and is still running away from himself. Thus, becoming the despicable, horrifying, monster you see before you.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody. At this point, I'm not sure what I'm want to do. I've already sent an application for CALARTS, but I know I won't be able to afford tuition for it. So, for the time being I'm really just looking for a work.

@Amanda I don't hate you XD! In fact I love you even more for taking the time to rip my portfolio a new one. I wasn't so sure how people would take Squiggly seeing how it was one of my first characters to be used in a short. I was hoping that people would look past the squiggly outlines and look at the character for his poses and personality, which was the purpose for the "unprofessional" cleanup. But I can see how that wouldn't work. And yes his design IS based on one of Eric Goldberg's examples. I also agree with my "Reflection" piece. The last thing I need are people seeing me as a bit of a downer. Same thing with the cop illustration, it's a bit on the "meh" side. Now for the life drawings, I have a few more that I haven't uploaded yet. I'm not sure if they're as strong as the one's you pointed out, but I'll let you be the judge. I'm actually taking life drawing classes over at CALARTS, so with any luck, I'll be able to put some new work in my portfolio before the big day. Thank you very much, and I can't wait to see you all at CTN, if you're going.

Hey guys, I've been going through a bit of a sh*tstorm recently and ever since then I've been a bit out of it when it comes to my art work. I still draw every now and then but only during the open life drawing classes at CALARTS. Aside from that, I haven't been feeling my drawings in a while. So I ask, what is your presonal cure for art block if you've ever had it? Thanks a bunch.

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to apply for CALARTS. I'm a tad unsure of what to show in my portfolio or what they want to see. I understand that they are particularly interested in seeing life drawings but I'm not sure if mine measure up. So if you could, please give me a full and honest critique on my current portfolio.

    Hey all,

It's been a while hasn't it? Anyway, I'm setting up my character design portfolio for the CTN Animation Expo in the next couple of months. I'd like some honest critique as well as a few suggestions on what to get rid of and what to add.
