So I ask - is the SCAD animation course worth it?   I understand Ringling is more recognized, and has a more well-known "name", so employment could be easier.  But I still wouldn't be focusing on what I REALLY want to.   My head is a mess. So first off, does anyone have anything to tell me about the college? About its location, the teachers, the animation program, or anything really that could be informative?   As for what I really want to ask.  I always hear that Macs are the way to go when it comes to computer graphics and stuff, but I don't see how a Mac can be better than a PC with kick-ass hardware.  Call me a noob - I AM a Mac noob - and I'd really rather stick to a PC unless if really necessary.  I was planning on buying a customized Dell (or... other brand.. any suggestions?), topping the price up to the one of a 15 inch Macbook Pro.  What do you guys have to say?   less

I was also rejected. Now I need to hope for the best when I receive my results from Ringling... I'm extremely anxious to know so many people have heard from them, but I've got no news yet. *siiiigh*

But right now I'm having some trouble with that - I've been noticing that most people who apply tend to be slightly older, than myself, and thus may have much more practice in more animation-like things (such as character design and all) - something I really, really don't have at this stage. So I'm slightly worried that my abilities as of now will not be enough... or does that not REALLY matter in the end if the portfolio and sketchbook still look good enough? Bleh. I've just got a bad feeling about all of this. xD But thanks for the good luck wish, it's greatly appreciated =)  less

My life drawing skills are still kinda rusty, so I'm afraid I might face lots of trouble with that D: especially because of my finals which are coming up... which reminds me, has anyone here taken the IBs? .. now, the more relevant question, about the contents of the sketchbook. Is it alright if the drawings are based on photo observation rather than from life? And can I include drawings solely from imagination, too? And random sketches of costume designs and such? So much to do, so much to do!  less
